Hmmmm
It is interesting isn’t it?
Who would stop a person from partaking?
If we told the public to go and partake at the memorial, and your average joe went in to the kh on the date,
Who would say anything?
Let’s put out flyers.

this year was going to be the first time in my life that i did not attend the memorial.
but i just thought of something that i would love to try out for a stir.
what do you think would happen if i skulled the entire glass of wine?

let's say you have 20 seconds (give or take) to make an impression on a jw.
to say something that will stick in their head and make them really think.
because you know, that once they realize you are an apostate, they will shut down anything else that you have to say.. what do you say?.
You know, since I believe that all things are possible, I am not going to say you’re wrong.
I hope that one day, yes the WTS will realize it’s errors.
And you have made an interesting point.
What is the point on making an impression with people?
To me, and you might agree, Jesus said that He is the truth. To uncover truth, wherever it lies, be it in religion, politics or philosophy or whatever… is important.
IF a witness came to my door, I feel I have the responsibility to be truthful with them.
Will I approach a crowd of JW’s in the coffee shop to put things in their face? No.
I guess I am thinking along the lines of, if the opportunity arose, how does one use that opportunity?
OR do we let the opportunity slide? Like you said, not try to make an impression.
But then don’t we have the responsibility to tell a person the truth?
I feel like this, if a person wants to be a dub, fine, as long as they are able to make an informed decision.
Before getting dunked, they have the right to know the full truth about the chronology, the Pleaides and all the other things. If they learn about all that, all of it, and they want to be a witness, fine. So be it.
On top of that!, a person can be easily put into the position of losing everyone they love or truth, when no man, absolutely no man, has the right to do that.
I guess, if someone is going to tell me that they are joining the jw’s, how do I help them to understand that they really need to do their homework, before they do?
Even if the WTS comes around, in the meantime, my mom could very well die before that happens and I won’t at least get to say to her “Despite the problems in our family, I love you and you did the best you could.”
I don’t want someone else’s heart to break. That’s all.
So, in 20 seconds, what can I say that will help a person to at least understand that they need to really prayerfully, look at the whole of the WTS? Before they and their family, get so involved, that down the road a heart is needlessly broken?
Hey, you still didn’t answer me. If we were in a coffee shop, what are you going to be like?

Sorry… Schizm did I interrupt? This is really funny to me. For a change I stole some elses thread. Happens to me all the time girl. Check this one out, for example: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/105318/1.ashx The difference is that in YOUR thread we got off topic unintentionally, whereas there was a deliberate attempt by other to sabatoge my thread. You might ask: Where are the moderators at such times? My answer would be: I'll be damned if I know!proceed...

That is not a reply to this thread. Do you or don’t you have a reply to what this thread is about?
Are you ever just nice to people? I mean, NICE?
Like if I were to run into you at Panera’s (I don’t know if they have those where you live, great coffee and great food) and we were standing in line next to one another, would you be polite or would you be rude?
I bet you are an exceptionally nice fellow, when you aren’t insulting people on jwd.
Oh, Shite, I just got off my own topic. Darn you, Schizm!

What do you say?
OR
You have one sentence to do the above. What do you write?
I realize that the thing is, some are just searching, and others are more like, well, Scholar. But this is your one shot. How do you simplify it to one statement?

If 2 people get together to read the bible in the name of Jesus Christ, pray for Holy Spirit to direct them and they come out of their bible reading with completely different ideas then what the WT teaches, did the Holy Spirit mislead them?
Sorry… Schizm did I interrupt?

some of us are addicted or simply curious or have been referred to, to see what these boards are all about.
even when people say that they're done, they're never coming back, they reappear......what's wrong with us?
reminds me that I'm not alone.
when a newbie comes out and needs reassurance, it's important for them to know they aren't alone.
Think about it, these forums are not necessarily for us as individuals, they're a community.
Think Desperate Housewives.
Really though... even when things are ok for me, I still check in here to see how everyone else is doing. Maybe I don't always post a reply, but being around in case someone needs something that I can give, be it a prayer or word of hope or comfort, is a good reason for me.
Also, I like your questions.

i lose the dub look.. in comes experimental hair color.. bleach blond with red.
soon a pierced nose.. a few years ago i did ruby highlights on black and my sister outright said it was too punky and the elders would more than likely take away my privileges.. this is my way of "stickin' it to the man" (ok, i got that from the sprint commercial, but it sounds good.. my husband loves it.
i started the process last night, but my hair is so dark, it's taking 2 days.. it should be interesting running into people from ye ol' hall.. .
Robdar, if I can figure out how to download pics from my digi cam and then figure out to how post the pics the right way, I will post pics.
It is fun

Ravishing blonde, it’s getting there. Between keeping the kids busy and safe and keeping my hair safe and keeping my sanity, it’s slowly getting there.
Tell Gina she rocks! That’s what I am starting with, a nice stud.
Greendawn, that was very eloquently worded. I have often used that word in describing many sorts of people. Pharisee. I wish more would understand that it is not about law or scroll, but it is about the spirit.
But that is a personal and spiritual thing.
OIC- 56 is Not old. Old is not a matter of age. (until you get to be ‘round 120) it really is a matter of your mind and spirit.
My youngest keeps asking when we can put the red in..lol.
The suspense is killing me. My husband is pretty excited. He gets to have, er, uhm, (ahem) relations with a blonde. Haha.

as shown by the text below, the 7-headed wild beast has a name.. 16 and it puts under compulsion all persons, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they should give these a mark in their right hand or upon their forehead, 17 and that nobody might be able to buy or sell except a person having the mark, the name of the wild beast or the number of its name.
18 here is where wisdom comes in: let the one that has intelligence calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is a mans number; and its number is six hundred and sixty-six.
of course the beast's "number" is "666" -- but that's not it's "name".
OH PULEEZE
Scholar, you and schizm are so full of yourselves, you wouldn't have a bleepity bleep clue what God and the universe are about in this lifetime or the next.
You are just as arrogant as Rutherford and if you had actually taken the time to absorb what Jesus words really mean, you'd knock yourself off your Nimrod Tower onto your peewee arse.
Life is NOT about cryptic messages in the bible and false prophets that come around to annoy people that have a true sense of security.
Why don't you try to get one? (a life)
You wouldn't get the book of Revelation if it knocked on your forehead with a blatant message. I mean you really, really don't get it. You honestly, truly, make me laugh.
Try being nice to the people around here for a change.
At first, I didn't really think you or your little buddy were serious. But then, ah yes, I was reminded of the racist elders in my old hall, the elders that drink and get away with double lives and the elders that overlook the weak and disheartened.
You fit in just fine.
**muah baby**
respond all you want, I've said my peace, Nimrod

I think that moderation is a big key factor in making any decision.
Something that is missing in the Org.
There is a store in the local mall that I really like, Hot Topic, and many of the people that work there are pretty goth.
One time, the daughter of the po in our hall said something to me like..
“The people that work at that store are scary.”
Now, that bothered me, more because it reflected what many in the congregations think.
I had an interesting conversation with the manager a couple of months ago.
Let me set the situation:
She had just tattooed across her hands “love life” a letter for each finger. She had piercing, and funky hair.
As always, she was, as were the rest of the workers there, incredibly helpful and nice.
I complimented her on her tattoo. It led to a conversation where I learned she teaches Sunday school, goes to church and loves God.
This is just her way of expressing herself. And she said how often, people come into the store making comments to the effect that it was a demonic store and they were evil etc.
She just wishes people could look past the outside appearance.
I’ve heard it said that the way we dress reflect who we are.
Why does it have to mean that if a person chooses to have piercing and tattoos and whatever, that they are demonic or whatnot?
I always loved Cyndi Lauper. When she was pregnant with one of her kids, I thought, what a lucky kid. To have a mom that is not afraid of the world to be who she needs to be to express what she needs to express.
Gwen Stefani is pregnant. She really seems to love life. Lucky kid.
Well, I’ll play safe.
So far…the black has really started to come out. Oh wow, this is pretty cool!
How long ago was that with the chemo? Are You staying healthy?!

I can’t believe that they said that to you Willow. That is just wrong. As if you weren’t going through enough.
Hair is not what makes a person beautiful or not beautiful. (I personally find bald men with the little fuzzy chin pretty hot)
Blondie is pretty amazing with what she digs up. And it’s not like it takes her two weeks, like it would me.
My husband has always sported some fuz on his face, and it always got to him, that If he wanted to study and become a dub, he would have to change his entire look just to be accepted. That was one of the things that held him back, I’m glad.
Belly button piercing…..
I keep thinking that it would get caught in a sweater and ouch!!!
